Privacy policy.

What BrokerEdge collects, why, who sees it, and how to ask us about it.

Last updated October 14, 2026.

Who we are

BrokerEdge is operated by StoryPros, LLC (“StoryPros”, “we”, “us”). This policy covers the BrokerEdge website and application at brokeredge.io and any other address we publish for it. It applies to visitors, to people who create an account, and to the people who appear in our research. Questions go to matt@storypros.io.

Information we collect

Account information

When you register we collect your email address and a password, which we store only as a salted hash. You can add a company name and an optional profile: the states you work in, the size of your book, the lines of business you focus on, and whether you are prospecting, defending existing clients, or both. We record when the account was created and when it last signed in, and whether the email address has been confirmed.

Billing information

Payments are handled by Stripe. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers. We store the Stripe customer identifier, the plan you chose, the subscription status and the end of the current billing period, and we receive payment event notices from Stripe so we can keep your plan current.

How you use BrokerEdge

We keep a record of the accounts you unlock, the searches you save, the pipeline stages and notes you add, the alerts the product raises for you, the research briefs and contact lookups you request, your contact-lookup and research usage against your plan’s allowances, and, on Enterprise, your team membership and invitations.

Technical information

Our servers log each request with its path, timing, outcome and the requesting IP address. We use the IP address to apply rate limits and to investigate abuse. Logs are kept for a limited period for troubleshooting and security. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers.

Cookies

BrokerEdge sets two cookies, both limited to the site and both expiring after 24 hours: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, which scripts cannot read, and a security token that protects forms against cross-site requests. Neither is used for tracking. Our public pages load the Geist typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests that file from Google when a page loads.

Information about people who appear in our research

BrokerEdge helps employee-benefits brokers understand employers. Part of that research identifies people connected to an employer’s benefits decisions: typically a name, a job title, a role description, a public profile link and a short professional summary, drawn from public sources such as company websites and professional profiles. When a user requests it, we obtain a business email address or a direct business phone number from a licensed lookup provider. We use this information only to help our users reach people in their professional capacity about employee benefits, and we keep it in the research for the accounts our users have unlocked.

If you believe you appear in our research and would like to see what we hold or have it removed, email matt@storypros.io with your name and employer. We will confirm your request and act on it.

BrokerEdge is not a consumer reporting agency, and nothing in it may be used to decide a person’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

How we use information

  • To provide the service: sign you in, show you your research, apply your plan’s allowances, and keep your team’s data separate from other customers’.
  • To bill you and to keep your subscription current.
  • To send service email: confirming your email address, team invitations, and notices about your account. We do not send marketing email without asking first.
  • To keep the service secure: rate limiting, abuse investigation and troubleshooting.
  • To improve the product, using aggregate usage that does not identify you.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run BrokerEdge. Each receives only what it needs for its task and is bound by its own terms to use it only for that task.

  • Stripe, for payments and subscription management.
  • Resend, for sending service email.
  • Anthropic, whose models help summarize public sources and confirm which public profile belongs to which person. Account data is not sent to it.
  • Exa, for searching public web sources during research.
  • Findymail, for business email and phone lookups our users request.
  • Replit and Neon, which host the application and its database in the United States.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.

How long we keep it

Account and usage information is kept while your account is active. Research you have unlocked stays available to you for as long as you have access to it. When you ask us to delete your account we delete the information that identifies you; billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Server logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded.

Security

Connections to BrokerEdge are encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Sessions expire after 24 hours, forms are protected against cross-site requests, and sign-in attempts are rate limited. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so if you suspect a problem with your account, write to us straight away. More detail is on the security page.

Your choices and rights

You can see and change your account and profile information in the application. You can cancel your subscription at any time from the billing portal. To access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, email matt@storypros.io from the address on your account; we will confirm your identity and respond within 30 days. Residents of California and other states with privacy laws have the rights those laws provide, including the right to know what we collect and the right to delete it, and we will not treat you differently for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

BrokerEdge is operated from the United States and intended for business users there. If you use it from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States.

Children

BrokerEdge is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
